The sections below explain the ordering process in
more detail.
Packaging advice
Your photos are valuable and we would therefore suggest
the following to avoid causing any additional damage
to them whilst in transit.
- Please send the photos in a secure package, preferably
in a board-backed envelope or, if they can be rolled,
in a cardboard tube. If you send them in a standard
envelope, please fold some cardboard or similar material
around them to prevent them from being folded or creased.
- We suggest that you send them to us either by Recorded
Post or Special Delivery. Although more expensive,
these methods do provide more security and allow the
Post Office to track packages.
- If the photo is in a frame and cannot be easily
removed, please package it securely in a jiffy bag
or similar. If the glass is cracked or broken, please
ensure that there are no loose pieces that might damage
the photo or the packaging.

Email
transfers
If your photos are already in a digital format e.g.
they have been scanned into your PC, are on a Photo
CD or they were taken with a digital camera, you can
send them to us via email. Please read the following
guidelines about how to format your photos to help us
achieve the best possible results:
- If you are scanning your photos, please set your
scanner’s resolution to 300 dpi (dots per inch).
Save them as JPEG’s at the lowest compression
ratio i.e. at ‘best’ quality.
- For pictures that you have on Photo CD’s or
from a digital camera, please send them as JPEG’s
(which is probably the format that they are already
in). If you are unsure of their resolution (dots per
inch), please send them as they are and we will check/adjust
the resolution if required.
- For best transfer times, please keep your file sizes
to a maximum of 2MB. Sizes larger than this will increase
transfer times and may not be accepted by your email
service provider.
- Please send the photo files via email to orders@torncorner.co.uk.

Despatch
and payment
- Once we have received your photos and confirmed
that you would like us to go ahead, we will complete
the restoration of your photos.
- On completion, we will contact you via phone or
email and request payment for the required amount.
Payments can be made either by cheque or online using
your credit card, Switch or Solo card or from your
bank account using the secure payment service offered
by PayPal. Please see below for details of how to
make your payment using either of these methods.
- On receipt of your payment the photos will be securely
packaged and mailed back to you via either Recorded
Post or Special Delivery (as chosen by you).
Cheque payments
- We will contact you via phone or email and ask you
to pop a cheque in the post for the required amount.
- Please make cheques payable to: TORN CORNER
LIMITED
Credit or debit card payment via Paypal

Both UK and international customers can choose to pay
using their credit card, Switch or Solo debit card or
from their bank accounts using the online payment services
of PayPal (please note that this is the only method
of payment available to our non-UK customers).
- We will send you an invoice via email requesting
payment of the required amount.
- This email will contain a link that will take you
to the PayPal website via a secure connection.
- If you have not previously used PayPal, you will
be asked for some brief registration details.
- Once registered, you will be asked to make the requested
payment. This may be via the entry of your credit
/ debit card details or you can select to make the
payment from your bank account if this has also been
registered with PayPal.

Complete
satisfaction guarantee
If you are not completely satisfied with the work done
when you receive the photos we offer a "no quibble"
guarantee, valid for 30 days after you receive the restored
pictures. Simply return the restored prints and any
other items to us and we will refund all monies paid
(excluding postage).

Terms and conditions
- Torn Corner does not accept any responsibility for
any loss of or damage to your original images whilst
in our possession or whilst in transit between you
and us.
- Proof of posting by you will not be taken as proof
of delivery to us. We strongly recommend that you
send your photos by either the Royal Mail’s
‘Recorded Signed for’ or ‘Special
Delivery’ services as these will enable you
to trace any lost items and, with the latter service,
to claim compensation from the Royal Mail for any
loss or damage to your valuable photos.
- Compensation for any items lost or damaged whilst
in transit from us to you using the Royal Mail’s
‘Special Delivery’ service will be limited
to the maximum as advised by the Royal Mail at the
time of despatch (presently £250). No compensation
will be payable by us for any items lost or damaged
whilst in transit when using any other service or
method.
- Torn Corner’s “no quibble” guarantee
will apply for 30 days after receipt of the restored
images by you. The guarantee will be void unless all
items for which you have paid are returned, including
any additional copies of your photos, photo mounts
and CDs.
